در این مقاله, قصد معرفی برخی اندام ها و ساختار ها در انسان را داریم که به نظر میرسد وستیجال هستند, و کاربردی در آن ندارند.
دندان عقل

به دندان هایی که به خوبی در دهان شکل نمیگیرند, impacted tooth میگویند؛ فکّ انسان, پیش از انقلاب کشاورزی و خوردن غذا های نرم و پخته شده, به واسطه غذا های سفت, تغیر فرم میداده, و فضای کافی برای رشد «دندان عقل» به انگلیسی wisdom در اختیار فکّ انسان میگذاشته, ولی امروزه, فکّ بیشتر افراد فضای کافی برای پذیرش دندان عقل را پیدا نمیکند, و باعث کج شدن دیگر دندان ها میشود.
The main reason we get impacted wisdom teeth is lack of space at the back of the jawbone. Our team found that when wisdom teeth develop and emerge very late, most of this space is already claimed by the first and second molars, so the wisdom tooth can’t move upwards and through the gums.
A related problem is jaw growth and overall length. If the jaw doesn’t grow long enough, fast enough, later-forming wisdom teeth also run out of space and can’t erupt properly, if at all.
A tooth that doesn’t properly emerge through your gums and into your mouth is “impacted.” Impacted teeth can be linked to problems including gum disease, cysts or damage to the second molar.
Apes rarely have impacted wisdom teeth. The same holds true for humans who eat non-industrialized diets.

پستان ها در مردان, از جمله اندام هایی هستند که گفته میشود کاربردی در او ندارند, و وستیجال هستند, لکن از طرفی برسی های دیگر نشان میدهند جزءی از اندام های جنسی هستند, و در تحریک جنسی مردان کاربرد دارند.
In regard to the men, 51.7% reported that nipple stimulation caused or enhanced their sexual arousal, 39% agreed that when sexually aroused such manipulation increased their arousal, only 17.1% had asked to have their nipples stimulated, and only 7.5% found that such stimulation decreased their arousal.

Conclusion: Manipulation of the nipples/breasts causes or enhances sexual arousal in approximately 82% of young women and 52% of young men with only 7-8% reporting that it decreased their arousal.
